In times of tragedy, children are the most affected. Baseball and softball can help to restore a sense of normalcy amidst the chaos.
PIFBS’ first project was with two Little League programs in Biloxi, Mississippi that were devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Disaster relief programs are ingrained into the fabric of this organization, still being our most impactful effort and our chance to bring some normalcy to kids in times of tragedy. Over the past decade, PIFBS has helped to rebuild entire leagues and thousands of kids to start their seasons on time. PIFBS has assisted with relief efforts in NY/NJ shoreline following Hurricane Sandy; Joplin, MO; the Gulf Coast region; and Japan. In 2018, PIFBS helped thousands of kids get back to playing ball in Houston and Puerto Rico following Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria.
PIFBS is working hard to identify teams and leagues that are in need of equipment in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. If you are interested in supporting disaster relief efforts in the Carolina’s please donate to the Hurricane Disaster Relief Fund.
