In April 2018, Pitch In For Baseball & Softball teamed up with MLB legend Hideki Matsui and his Foundation, Matsui 55 Baseball Foundation. The project helped two leagues in the New York area get the gear they needed to play ball this spring. Mount Vernon Department of Recreation received both baseball and softball equipment and Bedstuy Sluggers received baseball equipment. In total, over 400 pieces of equipment valued at over $5,000 were donated to help nearly 400 kids get on the field.
